The Easiest and Most Delicious Homemade Dog Treat Recipe

The Easiest and Most Delicious Homemade Dog Treat Recipe - The California Beach Co.

While your furry friend is obediently hanging out in their Pop ‘N Go ® Pets Playpen, we suggest sneaking away to make some homemade treats for them! In this article, we'll teach you how to make the most delicious pumpkin ginger dog biscuits.

This simple recipe only requires five ingredients, and is super easy to make. Bake up a batch, and you’ll fill your home with yummy smells that will surely make your pet jump for joy! In addition, this recipe is a good one to keep in your back pocket considering it's as healthy as it is delicious. The ingredients of pumpkin and ginger can naturally soothe your pup if a stomach ache strikes!

What You’ll Need:

  • Three cups of whole wheat flour
  • One-half teaspoon of ground ginger
  • One-half cup of pumpkin
  • One large egg, beaten
  • One tablespoon of melted coconut oil
  • Three-inch cookie cutters

Let the Baking Begin!

The first thing you’ll need to do is preheat your oven to 275 degrees. While that’s heating up, you can start prepping! In one bowl, combine the flour and ginger evenly and set it aside. In another, combine the pumpkin, egg, and melted coconut oil. Mix these latter three ingredients together. Once you achieve a somewhat smooth texture, you can add in the flour and ginger! Mix all five of these ingredients together until the mixture is a crumbly consistency.

Next up — bring in the mixer. Turn your mixer on low, and slowly add in one tablespoon of water at a time. You can stop mixing and adding water when the dough is formed, but not sticky.

Now it’s time to roll out your dough! Roll out this mixture on a floured surface until it reaches a one-fourth-inch thickness. Once you’re there, you can use your cookie cutters to shape the biscuits!

By now, your oven is most likely ready. Place your cut-out treats two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets, and slide them in the oven. Let these biscuits hang out for the next two-and-a-half hours — you’ll know they’re ready when the bottoms are browned and the texture is firm. In the meantime, you can play outside or indoors with your pup and their Pop ‘N Go ® Pets Playpen!

The Way to Your Dog’s Heart...

When your baking adventure is all said and done, you’ll have a batch of 18 biscuits total. That’s plenty of treats to let your pet know what a good boy or girl they are! They’ll love the taste and smell of these natural treats, and you’ll be happy to feed them something not only healthy, but safe from harmful ingredients. #DogMomGoals
