California Beach Co. Honors Those Lost in 9/11

California Beach Co. Honors Those Lost in 9/11 - The California Beach Co.

As we approach the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy at the World Trade Center, our hearts are heavy at California Beach Co. We thought it appropriate to show respect to those lost in 9/11 with an honorary blog post, featuring some tips for discussing this event with your children and some ways to show respect as a family. 🇺🇸

Share a Moment of Silence

One way to show respect for the lives lost on 9/11/2001, is to share a moment of silence. Have a moment with your whole family when everyone can remain silent to have some time to think about the lives that were lost and say a prayer for the families involved. If you live in an area with a 9/11 memorial site then this is the perfect place to go to have a moment of silence to reflect on what this day represents.

Have a Family Discussion

Get your kids together to discuss what this day represents and talk with them about the events that occurred on that day. Explain the events of 9/11 in an age-appropriate way that your children can understand. Although it may be upsetting for younger kids to hear about this event, it is important to still be honest about it with your children once they’re at an age when they can understand the magnitude of such an event.

Spend some time volunteering

Do some research to find any organizations in your area that benefit your community. Giving back to those who are in need of your support is always a great way to spend your time but it is especially beneficial to pay it forward on a day like 9/11. See if you can find any volunteer opportunities that your children can participate in as well.

Show appreciation for local first responders 🚓🚑🚒

First responders played an important role in helping with the relief efforts during the 9/11 attacks and continue to play an important role in our communities every day. Thank a service member for what they do or donate to an organization that supports your local first responders.

At California Beach Co., we have a deep appreciation for our service members and have heavy hearts for the families affected by the 9/11 tragedy. We believe that coming together as a community and practicing inclusiveness is an important part of overcoming such painful events. ❤️🇺🇸
