Simply bringing up the topic of inclusivity to your children is a great way to get a discussion started. You could start by asking them if they’ve ever heard the term or if they know what it means. Explain to them what inclusivity means to you and some ways that they can practice it. One great way to encourage kids to practice inclusivity is by sharing with them the importance of never leaving out any of the other kids at school when participating in group activities such as team sports. 👫👭👬
Challenge your kids to go out of their comfort zone
Encouraging your kids to play with anyone who may be left out at school will help them understand that everyone is equal. Challenge them to play with anyone at school who may seem “left out” or “different” because of disabilities or language barriers. 🤝
Lead by example
One of the best ways to teach your kids about equality and inclusion is leading by example. We all know that our kids copy us pretty much from when they are born, so by being inclusive and kind yourself, you’re already taking positive steps as a parent and leading the way to your child understanding equality. 🥰
